Welcome back ladies and gents and all those in between 🙂
Question: Are YOU ready to take YOUR life to the next level? Well, if you are, you’re in the right place!
“Change YOUR Attitude & Change YOUR Life” is the foundation for all my speaking and coaching work. One of my mentors, Dr. Wayne Dyer said it best:
“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at begin to change”
Makes perfect sense doesn’t it? So what’s the deal? Well, for a lot of us, we tend to look at what we don’thave versus what we do have. Get me? The following question never fails to prove this point to the nth degree. I have a 100% success rate in changing people’s perspectives in a matter of minutes – guaranteed!
The conversation usually goes something like this:
Client: “My life sucks! I have all these bills stacking up and just feel like there’s nothing I can do!”
Christopher: “Wow, I know what you mean. So tell me, would $1,000,000 make a difference? Would it solve all of your problems today?”
Client: “OH MY GOD YES!!!! I could pay off my bills, take a vacation, buy a new car, etc.”
Christopher: “Okayyyy…just imagine, all things being equal, and I had the money and power, would you trade your eyesight right now for the $1,000,000 and NEVER EVER see again? Never see another sunrise, your kids smile…”
Usually less than 5 seconds goes by and….
Client: “Are you kidding me? HELLLLLL NO!!!!” Nothing is worth losing my eyesight over!”
Christopher: “Okay, I understand, that’s a lot, but you said it would solve all your problems didn’t you?” Well, would $500,000 make a difference too?”
Client: “Heck yeah!! I could still do all those things, but maybe not retire LOL!”
Christopher: “Alright – give me your legs for the rest of your life! Yeah, no more walking EVER again! $500,000 for a life in a wheelchair – do you do it?”
Christopher: “So, let’s recap – every morning you wake up, open your eyes and see what’s around, step out of bed, you’re $1,500,000 ahead of the game right?”
The talk goes on, but you get the point right? IMMEDIATELY there’s a shift in the person’s mindset (attitude) from “Oh poor me look at what I don’t have” to “WOW, there are SOOO many gifts I take for granted!”
My research comes from talking to a lot of people over the years who’ve survived tragic accidents and very scary health situations. Like, the guy who got hit in the head with his own surfboard who used to complain about sitting in traffic and driving 60miles to work every day says “I’d trade EVERYYYYYTHING to step on a brake pedal again – to get up and simply walk again”
One last story from my own personal life. My mom, an incredibly strong, tenacious, hard working woman, now old and frail said to me as she sat as an amputee in her wheelchair “Ya know something, a woman walked briskly by me the other day, and I thought to myself, I used to be able to do that.” I nearly broke down in tears. She passed away a few weeks later. Mostly, because she neglected to take care of her health – she took it for granted and ultimately regretted it.
My message to you: Quit looking at what you don’t have or what’s so hard in life and instead, look around with thankfulness for what you DO have!
Do this for me: Make a “Gratitude Journal” and write three things every day before you go to bed. Then ,when you wake up, read a page or two and remember to look around with possibilities in your mind and heart!
I promise – it works!
All my best for your KICKASS happiness and success!
