It absolutely boggles my poor little mind it’s “THE HOLIDAYS” again so dang soon! Feels like someone threw my life into the spin cycle these last 12months!!!

Well, I’m sure you can tell by the title of this article it’s a play on the “let’s stuff our face and complain later we ate too much” holiday right?

But, think about the name “Thanksgiving” for a moment. What does it mean to YOU? Is it the only day you give thanks for family, friends, and food? Or, do you even really give true thanks at all? Honestly, I’ve been to a few Thanksgiving events where most everyone sat around, food falling out of their mouths, COMPLAINING about EVERYTHING under the sun! Fortunately for the Master Motivator™ their counters were littered, uh I mean decorated, in lovely bottles of holiday cheer to keep my mouth occupied J

Soooo…what are you really thankful for? Here’s a short list I repeat nightly as I hit the pillows:

  1. Health
  2. Family
  3. Friends
  4. Health
  5. Animals
  6. House
  7. Job
  8. Health
  9. Freedom
  10. Music

Can ya tell I’m seriously thankful for my health or what??? Sadly, most people take it for granted until it’s too late. Studies show someone who’s had a heart attack is MUCH less likely to have another one. Why? Because NOW they’re paying attention to heart attack causing issues. Diet, exercise, stress, etc.  Hindsight is always 20/20!

You might’ve heard me say it before, but bears repeating now: What YOU focus on the most becomes YOUR reality! If you (choose) to see nothing but doom and gloom, guess what buddy boy – you’ll find it!

On the other hand, try waking up every morning and taking a MINUTE to say what you’re thankful for and what you’re going to focus on for the day? I mean, c’mon, what’s the worst that’s gonna happen if ya do? Then again, as your head crashes on the pillow (be grateful for that pillow…a lot of people sleep on the ground), say quietly to yourself, “Today I’m thankful for…” I promise if you’re consistent, it will change your life and probably the lives of the people around you. How awesome would that be???

Now, what new tradition can you start this Thanksgiving? How about everyone shares five things they’re grateful for. And get this, no repeats!  Then, take the list, make it all pretty with pictures, and turn it into a wonderful gift to give back at Christmas!!! Wouldn’t that just get you the BIGGEST hugs ever???

I’m truly thankful for SOOO many things in life, but really, it’s my health, and YOU! I appreciate all the warm comments I get with each and every article written. It touches my heart to know I give you something right when you need it the most J
